Evolution in Stakeholder Management
I can recall with vivid clarity my old classics teacher enunciating to the class that ‘There is nothing new under the sun.’ At that stage of our lives no one would have dared disagree with such an eloquent and confidently delivered statement from our erudite master.
The recent development of Comms Matrix initiated my rumination on the above assertion, and these days I can only half agree with it (insofar as the principles of consultation, engagement, and human behaviour hold true).

Managing the communication with your stakeholders whether that communication is specific to optimising business opportunities or managing critical issues affecting the broader community can be a difficult and complex task. Businesses, government agencies and interest groups often need to, and in fact in many instances have a responsibility to, engage with their stakeholders as part of their issues management protocols. The complexity and scope associated with managing the issue and communicating the status of that issue to relevant parties presents a variety of challenges.
